Ask HN: How to get good at marketing your product and SEO?

4•flashblaze•9mo ago
I recently "launched" my product by mentioning it across Twitter and Discord which led some traffic to it. However, that is not a long-term strategy.

I have heard about Ahrefs: https://ahrefs.com/, but I don't want to spend $129 right now since I'm not sure whether the ROI on it would be worth it.

Are there any strategies or tips you might be able to share? Thanks

You can get pretty far with Google's Webmaster Tools, only pay for the Ahrefs if you want to use it for keyword research or to monitor your results in more detail. They have lots of great free content though, like: https://ahrefs.com/academy/seo-training-course

Ultimately SEO boils down to building links and writing content.

Will check it out. Thanks

Take a course on SEO and learn it from the ground up, just like any other sort of skill.
