The agreement also includes a robust financial commitment: Anthropic will acquire $30 billion in computing capacity on Azure, in addition to contracting up to 1 gigawatt of additional processing power.
With the change, Microsoft Foundry clients will have direct access to the startup's cutting-edge models — including Claude Sonnet 4.5, Claude Opus 4.1, and Claude Haiku 4.5. Despite this, Anthropic will maintain Amazon as its primary cloud provider and training partner.
