They want the US to become a net exporter of goods, but they're too stupid to make that transition happen or to realize that that would make the US a much poorer country, so they're just going to spin their wheels while stocks, bonds, and the dollar crash to unrecoverable levels.

They're too stupid to understand that any such transition will be decades in the making.

In the meantime, the country's lack of manufacturing capability leaves no alternative but continue importing --- and paying for tariffs --- which will just make us all poorer.

Stupid is as stupid does.

The insanity of this trade war.

Apparently, this war was launched without first considering that those being attacked with tariffs are the same folks who buy our Treasury bonds.

Duhhh!!! Oopsie!!!

US wants nothing, Trump wants bribes. Straight from horses mouth:

"THE BUSINESSMEN WHO CRITICIZE TARIFFS ARE BAD AT BUSINESS, BUT REALLY BAD AT POLITICS, THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND OR REALIZE THAT I AM THE GREATEST FRIEND THAT AMERICAN CAPITALISM HAS EVER HAD!"

aka bribe me like Tim Apple and tariffs go away.
