Trump says China tariffs will drop 'substantially – but it won't be zero'

This was just.. what? A fit?
inverted_flag•9mo ago
I think he genuinely thought China would immediately cave and he could score an easy deal off of them.
lawn•9mo ago
It's the Art of the deal in full display.

Or in plain English, he's weak and incompetent and he folded.

gcrfelix•9mo ago
let's see who bend the knee first
nabla9•9mo ago
As predicted.

>Trump will cave within 1-2 weeks is my prediction. He will declare losing as winning and that will be it. Tariffs will return to more manageable levels.

cauesmelo•9mo ago
Looking forward to the next chapters. Let's see if Trump dropping some of the tarrifs will make China drop some too.
fjfaase•9mo ago
I wonder if China will drop its restrictions, such as on the export of rare metals, even if he would lower the tarrifs to zero.
rsynnott•9mo ago
Very much declaring victory while admitting defeat, here. Did anyone ever suggest it would be zero, Donald? Was it zero before?
