I even made a starter template to quickly bootstrap new ideas using my favorite stack: Python, Postgres, Docker, Tailwind, and Svelte.
Over time, I launched several products:
- A tool to send custom notifications to all your devices easily - A tool to generate beautiful landing pages - A feature request tracker to see what your users really want - An analytics tool to track your REST API performance issues—without touching a single line of backend code
I dedicated time and effort to each of these. The result? I made very little money from them.
Ironically, my most lucrative project today is the very first one I built. It’s a platform to learn Tailwind CSS. When I started my dev journey, I really struggled with design. I wanted to learn Tailwind, but I didn't enjoy watching videos or reading through documentation. I just wanted to practice in a comfy, hands-on environment.
So I built https://interactive-tailwind.com. And to my surprise, I started getting sales without doing any real marketing (which I’m terrible at). I launched it on Product Hunt, and since then, sales have trickled in. I’ve even revamped the course twice, since it seems like there’s real potential.
All this to say: no matter how many features you add, no matter how much you plan, your most successful product might be the one you least expect. I’m still surprised.
Have you ever experienced something similar?

I've also tried directories, where they post your website on several websites, but that didn't work well unfortunately.
