Ask HN: Feedback on Our SaaS Security Product (Sentrinus) for Startups and SMBs

3•aditya12anand•9mo ago
Hey HN,

We’re a small team building Sentrinus (aka NEBULA), a lightweight endpoint monitoring and security platform aimed at SMBs and startups that can't afford heavy, complex EDR/XDR tools. Bringing the most critical aspects of MDM, EDR, and asset inventory tools under the same product.

After months of development, we’ve built a functional SaaS platform with a native Windows agent. It provides real-time visibility into processes, services, and system events, and provides device restrictions for security that our MVP customers asked for. The platform follows an agent server architecture, and the deployment of the agent takes just a few minutes. We’ve tried to keep it as frictionless as we could.

Here are a few videos to explain what we have already built as of now:

  a) A short demo video (1:39) - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z2E32VykDj1ObDWaz9vnaqRrR1_rpWou/view?usp=drive_link
  b) A full walkthrough (4:42) - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_rHeBpuPr-GzOz4y-7_XIz1c9V0OguxD/view?usp=sharing

We want to launch publicly soon and would love to get feedback from the HN community:

  a) What do you think we’re doing right?
  b) Where do you see potential risks, flaws, or poor practices?
  c) What would you want improved if you were a user or an investor?

A few things we’re already working on:

  a) Custom policy configuration and alerts, along with user groups
  b) macOS and Linux support (basic functionality is in place for Linux)
  c) Getting it externally pentested & getting GDPR/ISO cert
Happy to answer any technical or product questions. Be brutal if need be, we want to improve.

Thanks in advance!
