Show HN: A secure, account-free way to share .env files with E2E encryption

https://www.useenv.com
1•bopoku579•9mo ago
Hi HN, my name is Bless. I'm a Stanford student and SWE intern at Microsoft.

I often needed to share .env files during handoffs or with teammates, but none of the tools felt secure and fast enough.

So I built Env — a free, no-login tool to paste environment variables, encrypt them locally, and share them via a secure link and encryption key.

No sign-up One-click paste from .env files

You get a short link and can send the decryption key separately Inspired by dev pain, powered by simplicity.

Try it here: https://www.useenv.com Would love feedback — especially from security-conscious folks!

I don't understand the purpose of putting the second call-to-action button on the homepage with something that cannot possibly work

Also, up to you but if your "copy link" action used hash args with the decryption key it would be easy to share but still not travel to your server. That's the way mega does theirs
