With how fast AI is moving, I’ve been thinking a lot about what skills really matter for the next generation. As a parent, it's hard to know what will still be relevant in 5 or 10 years.

Analytical thinking, writing software, a foreign language (or two), making stuff.

OpenAI and Anthropic CEOs claimed that AI will be able to do 95% of the work in software development in 12 months. Also with LLM the translation problem is considered solved. With these progresses made I imagine software development and new languages are important skills but are easily covered by AI tools.
