I was telling my mother, in a little while or 500 years, there will be an opportunity/need to append a "I" to that inscription, as a future Pope choosing "Francis II" as a regnal name is a real possibility.

Perhaps they will revisit the entire design at that point, and quietly update it. Perhaps they will simply allow God to "write straight with crooked lines" until that decision point?
