To be honest this is an extremely hilarious situation.
This is also an application of "pre commitment", in lesswrong terms. Binding yourself to a certain behavior, while you still could make a different decision. As seen in this example it doesn't work, well, unless the government may be enforcing your pre commitment.

Generally I like precommitment, even without the government enforcement. It keeps people honest. For most people, the shame of being called out is enough to have the precommitment have some effect
