Show HN: The Average color of Earth based on 20 years of satellite data

https://landshade.com/ISO/GLOBAL/
4•jcattle•9mo ago
This is only for land areas. I also made a wordle type game where you can guess the color for a country every day: https://guess.landshade.com/

What was your source data for satellite imagery? How were you able to get all year round data for some of these countries?
jcattle•9mo ago
The Source Data are the MODIS sensors on the Aqua and Terra satellites. They have a very coarse resolution (500m) but do a full scan of the earth every single day.

I used a cloud free best-pixel composite for my analysis (MCD43A4.061)
