> Devoción began limiting customers' WiFi use to two hours during weekdays after remote work skyrocketed during COVID.

Who's doing remote work in coffee shops on weekends? Wouldn't it have made more sense to completely unrestrict the Internet then, rather than completely shutting it off?

I suppose it depends on the culture and location of the coffee shop and the local population. Management would be able to tell from sales if those hanging out there for many hours are buying anything. If they are taking up seats and not buying more than one coffee then it would probably make business sense to boot them out and hope for more paying customers. The sales numbers would show if that makes or made sense. OTOH if the shop has a capacity of 25 and on average only has 5 people then leave them be as it will make the place look popular with 5 cars in front of it.
