Crucially, none of us were there to verify. Don't be fooled by typists: https://www.reddit.com/r/bobdylan/comments/uz85vo/norm_macdo...

Assuming it's real, such takes are always just nostalgia driven appeals to their own lifestyle.

Until now, never knew this person existed. Their individual impact is meaningless in a world propped up by 8 billion. Any waves and ripples they create are immediately absorbed before they're felt systemically.

Not gonna validate the self-dealing attitude of someone with literacy, but zero magical god-like ability. That's just typical human stuff.

What an arrogant little wanker this guy is.

Because we have such strong, concrete evidence that people connected so much better in a past of enforced socialization, being forced into communities of certain types regardless of your personal preferences and having to fit a rigid range of social conformities, you know, before all the monstrosities of comfortable modern digital living that let individuals pick and choose who, how and when they interact based on their own decisions.

I see here a contrived so-called crisis over something it's become fashionable to completely lack perspective about.

The internet has been changing societal structure for a while. The world is still learning to operate with it, and will likely be continuously adjusting for quite some time.

Over the course of time, we will "lose" things and we will "gain" things. Society will approach equilibrium over time. Even when sectors of the digital world are considered hostile, there are plenty of ways for society as a whole to handle it. Societal equilibrium will never look like our ideals.
