I'd honestly like the opposite. There's several cases in Apple's own apps that ignore the default app you've set for Navigation in Settings and try to open Apple Maps.
One example would be Contacts, clicking a location will just error out if you don't have Apple Maps installed.

It drives me insane that iOS does not do this automatically.
Those “helpful” links to addresses in my email that go to google maps in my browser instead of my Apple Maps app that I actually use drive me insane. Especially with the pop up from Google to install the app instead of just showing me the location.
