Show HN: I made instant in-page translation and personal vocabulary builder

https://phraseclip.com/en
2•kielak2•4h ago
Hi HN,

I built PhraseClip because, as a non-native English speaker, I often skipped unfamiliar words while reading online. The friction of copying them into another translator was high enough that learning opportunities slipped away. By making translation effortless, I hope to turn everyday browsing into a low-effort vocabulary lesson.

PhraseClip is a Chrome extension with a companion web app that lets you highlight a word or short phrase on any page and see its translation right where you are, without opening a new tab. Each lookup is automatically stored in your personal dictionary for later review in the web app. The translations are generated on the fly by Gemini 2.0 Flash. In dictionary it also creates example sentence with context.

Do you think tool like this is useful? Please share what you think.
