WSJ: Some Apple Vision Pro Buyers 'Feel Total Regret'

I bought my AVP for precisely one reason - long haul flights, and it transforms that experience into a much more pleasant time.

UK <-> USA is ~$4-6k/flight in business, so $8-10k round trip, and for the price of an AVP, it's well worth it.

It’s funny to me how these people don’t think “maybe i should sell it if i don’t use it. So i get some money back and someone else gets the opportunity to enjoy it”.

I don’t get it. I guess complaining on the internet is more fun? People are weird.

For example there is demand on ebay - 14 bids for this USED vision pro, will sell for at least $2.2k. https://ebay.us/m/umMGwF

Letting it collect dust in a drawer is a choice. I also consider it ewaste if if the device isn’t being put to good use.

I don't get it - You are annoyed because people are complaining about a product they are unsatisfied with or really unhappy with?
lurking_swe•8mo ago
They are saying they feel “regret”. Why? Because they paid a lot of money and then put it in a drawer.

Why not sell it to someone that would appreciate it, and use it daily? Then their regret would…go away??? That’s my point. Blogging about it to share your experience is great. Saying you regret your purchase is VERY silly in this case, when it’s so easy to recoup most of the initial cost.

To me it’s one of my best tech purchases ever. As someone who travels a lot, having a large external monitor for my MacBook that I can bring with me anywhere does wonders for my productivity. I also appreciate being able to filter out visual noise by enabling one of the virtual environments; it’s like noise-canceling headphones for the eyes. I routinely experience a level of focus and flow that I was very rarely able to achieve before. It’s my favorite Apple product since the original Macintosh, and I’m excited to see how the product category will develop in the years to come.
