In case of India vs Pakistan, isn't the situation clear? India and Pakistan are sworn enemies and the conflict between them will never cease for as long as both nations exist. And a clean victory of India over Pakistan, is possible, even if somewhat costly. It's not like Russia vs Ukraine situation because no one will be seriously hurt or feel threatened if Pakistan ceases - India is a more civilised country and Pakistan's current neighbours will feel safer if it is replaced by India, so no one is likely to help Pakistan. So why not just go for it?
