> "It's been a tough couple of days," Droettboom wrote. "Microsoft's support for the Faster CPython project was canceled yesterday, and my heart goes out to the majority of the team that was laid off. A hard day for me, but even harder for others."

How many team members are left?

Furina•8mo ago
According to core dev Tian Gao's video on bilibili (chinese, 码农高天 b23.tv/BV1N2EkzoEa5 ), there are only a leader and an employee left. They will probably transfer to other positions soon.

owebmaster•8mo ago
can I hope for the layoffs to be in the typescript team?

Edit: yes, looks like https://fosstodon.org/@rbuckton/114502046343131907 - nothing personal

It's all about suppressing wages and increasing profits. Knowledge workers need to realize we're not individually immune to being treated badly by mercurial corporate exploitation, and that solidarity and worker-owner co-ops offer a glimmer of home that niches of stability and happiness are possible.
