In other words, isolation is for idiots.
It is tantamount to economically shooting yourself in the foot. It doesn't lead to "greatness" but rather to decline --- a less prosperous, less competitive, less relevant society.
It is simply not a tenable approach to the world and TSMC Arizona is the proof. Just look at history. Every empire of consequence has been characterized by increased and expanded trade, not isolation.
No society has ever isolated itself into "greatness" --- and America won't be the first.
