I get half a dozen calls a day from random phone numbers in my area code; there's always a (pretty decent) computer-generated woman's voice with an American name who asks me some screening questions - either about health insurance, auto accident claims, or home security - and then passes me along to a person with a non-American accent.

I wonder how many of those are trafficking victims.

I usually try to keep them on the phone for awhile, without being obnoxious about it - every minute they spend on the phone with me is a minute they don't spend scamming my grandparents.
