Ask HN: Would a combination of Snapchat and Reddit be interesting?

Imagine a Snapchat + Reddit combo where you are able to send posts of text, links, pictures etc, but then they disappear after a set period.

The set period could either be a fixed time period (1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year etc) or it can be after a certain period after the last engagement on that post (lets say 1 month after the last comment posted on it).

Thoughts? Open to improvement to this idea.

What is the value of disappearing posts in that context? I've never used snapchat, but I have used reddit, so I am not sure what the appeal of snapchat is.

Since posts and comments all disappear, people may be more willing to be open.

Also it keeps the content in the app always "hot" and new.
