This was a good read. Can relate to that vibe of working in 'hospitality', until early morning, and ending shift with that exhausted buzz high, and the relaxation and sense of accomplishment that comes after that, and with a way to unwind.
And now working in software and company-building like the author. It's funny and nice that many people have similar experiences. We both value that "esprit de corps" that you really feel in a busy restaurant or place.
The tie-in with Anthony Bourdain was the icing on the cake, to see that the great man himself, so valued and missed, had such similar experiences and appreciations too.
