These are the incentives of mass media (shaping the socioeconomic narrative), and why (imho) you've seen younger folks switch to social media for getting their info. Young women have wisened up of course (rapidly falling total fertility rate) independently of the media (who still clutches pearls with "why won't anyone have children!?") but there is a long way to go with young men and who they should be blaming for their lack of opportunity.
