Show HN: I made a app after too many "Oh crap, forgot to cancel my subscription"

Hey there,

My name is Thomas and I am a solopreneur.

One day I realized I was paying for a lot of services I was no longer using, and I kept receiving those "You've been charged..." notifications.

Sounds familiar?

So I built Ruby, a web application that warns me right before trials are about to end or subscriptions are about to be charged.

I've been using it personally and I've noticed 2 big changes in my spending: -37% reduction in monthly recurring costs -I get to explore a lot more SaaS projects without the fear of forgetting to cancel them

I hope Ruby is as helpful to you as it is for me, and I would appreciate some feedback as this is my first project I've actually launched.

Thank you and keep on building!

Thomas

A bit more context on the tech side for those interested: Built with Next.js for the dashboard, REST API backend with NestJS.

The key feature is the 24-hour email alerts before renewals - most trackers just show you what you're paying after the fact, but Ruby focuses on that crucial window when you can still cancel.

That 37% reduction happened over 6 months and saved me about $180. The biggest win was catching a $29/month project management tool I'd been paying for after I switched to Notion.

Still working on analytics features and maybe mobile apps, but wanted to get feedback from this community first since you all understand the subscription struggle!

Happy to answer any technical questions about the implementation.
