I just came across a Bloomberg article claiming that AI will eventually handle all candidate screenings. It might be a PR move by the companies mentioned, but I’m not sure what to make of it. On one hand, it feels disrespectful to candidates, and I doubt many companies are comfortable going that far. On the other hand, the article suggests this trend is gaining traction.

AI recruiters responding to AI generated cover letters, and AI generated resumes, interviewing AI trained candidates, sounds like a perfect match!

Haha, I was actually wondering what’s stopping candidates from just running AI to answer the questions, like that video where Google Home and Amazon Echo talk to each other?
Unfortunately, in today’s market, companies will do whatever it takes to cut costs, and candidates will do whatever it takes to get hired. By the time the pendulum swings back, this impersonal style of interviewing might be the new normal and no one will expect employees to invest time in truly getting to know one another.
