SSRIs are slowly but surely becoming a drug not too dissimilar to caffeine.
Benefits far outweigh the negatives for some (most?) people.

Either that or they are a very profitable class of drugs and their owners have spent heavily to amplify the perception of benefits while downplaying the adverse effects.
I urge anyone considering a psych drug to do some research, and you can do a lot worse than watching some of the following YT channel, in which a psychiatrist conducts many interviews with people who claim to have been damaged by psych drugs including SSRIs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxZccQ7J-XA

Sure that's possible too (that research is heavily funded and swayed by the stake holders).
TBH though, over the last 20 years, I've seen enough to safely conclude for myself that SSRIs like Prozac are mostly harmless and probably have more benefits than drawbacks for the general population.
Coffee / caffeine falls into the same camp. Does it have drawbacks and side effects? Of course. Is it almost certainly a net-benefit? Yes.
So many other drugs where its very easy to say the opposite about. Alcohol for example, is mostly negative. My only recommendation for when to use alcohol is for ACUTE social situations. But even then, I recommend people work on their anxiety and self image before relying on alcohol for confidence. That said, it can be a silver bullet. Point is, everything is nuanced, everything has a plus and a negative.
