I see folks talking about the theory of it [1, 2]. Some folks seem to refer to it in place of full-stack development, while others mean an amalgam of product management and software engineering. It's the latter I'm wondering about. The theory sounds great, especially as AI copilots change what it means to be a developer, but I hear few examples of people actually doing the non-coding work of digging into user feedback and usage data, getting PM-like responsibilities to own the outcome of features (not just its technical execution), influencing roadmap, researching competitors, etc.

If it's happening, which devs and orgs are doing it well? are you?
