Columbia invited this by kneeling to Trump. You don't compromise with fascist. Simultaneously, I think this is a misplay from Trump. With Columbia and Harvard taking different stances, he's shown that you are damned if you do and damned if you don't so universities are now more likely to fight back than comply. You're telling people there is no carrot, only sticks.

It's just so tiring watching people try to reason about the actions of a mad man. Trump has no plan, he is full of hate, and I'm pretty sure he has dementia. He just wants to be in charge, he wants to win (whatever that means), and he wants to punish people.

We are all living in an abusive household with Trump and the Republicans. You don't make plans for the future in an environment like that, you take one day at a time and try not to get smacked around.

Exactly. Spending time trying to be his mom to rationalize junior, therapist motivating his neurosis, or in the spirit peele and key's anger management coach a trump explainer coach ... screw that.

Bring his behind into a formal setting: court where he has skin in the game and real world consequences. He'll either tell the truth and lose or take the 5th and lose. Trump et al is a loser in court != TV.

If a modern problem in tech is that it's getting harder to know the difference between tech and hype about tech, the lawyer problem is it's harder to know where lawyers stop and politicians begin. Think Alina Habba. Trump likes the latter which is the other reason he loses.

It’s all about keeping people off-center while they plunder the economy. Everybody is so focused on the chaos they cant keep track. It’s not insane, it’s fucking genius.
cowboylowrez•9h ago
yeah I've had this feeling ever since they mentioned an intent to simultaneously sell off federal land and making a crypto "strategic" whatever and feeding all of the US's records into who know's what's AI slurp machines.
