This started as a trend on TikTok, and it’s funny to me that TSA posts on Facebook to counteract it. Trends run so far so fast on TikTok. I don’t have a source but I think I saw the original video, and it simply said that a Costco card counted as a photo ID for the _alternative verification process when you don’t have a real ID_, then someone else took it out of context and the classic “telephone game” started from there.
