Whenever I mentioned that in forums, people were extremely hostile as they knew they were wasting their time and instead of getting praise for useless optimization and eye candy, they got a well intended reality check. I stopped after a while because people never stopped posting this kind of rubbish.

The real question is: what is a good use of your lifetime and isn't everything just some sort of procrastination till you die?
