There are already a few “reverse engineering” blog posts about Claude Code. I was curious to learn more about it, and I especially wanted to run Claude Code with locally hosted LLMs.

I was just curious to test and learn about the code behind Claude Code. I made some tweaks to be able to run any OpenAI API-based models. In the video I use OpenRouter and this amazon llm is pretty damn fast.

I removed the annoying Haiku related API calls (see some of the links below for more info about them).
