Telegram is indistinguishable from an FSB honeypot

unfortunately telegram has by far the nicest usability of all chat applications that i tried (except for wechat which is even nicer in some aspects). but whatsapp, signal, matrix are all worse, deltachat too, but it's slowly becoming my preferred choice after telegram and wechat when it comes to usability.
amai•7mo ago
To the surprise of absolutely no one a russian messenger does russian things.

When do people stop being surprised about software from dictatorships doing bad things?

Why do we even allow such software at all? TikTok, Wechat, rednote, Telegram... should all be banned.

afroboy•7mo ago
Isn't this what USA tech companies do? In much worst way?
tpoacher•7mo ago
If that's the case, I'll say this then. If the FSB has a UX manual, other secret organisations should follow it to the letter for their own messenger apps.

Because currently everything else sucks.
