Ask HN: How do you promote your Chrome extensions (on a budget or not)?

2•ForgedLabsJames•6mo ago
I’ve built a couple of Chrome extensions that solve real problems and have decent UX. Now I’m trying to get them in front of the right users. I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully promoted their extensions — with or without a budget.

What channels, strategies, or communities actually moved the needle for you? Did paid ads, SEO, Product Hunt, YouTube, or Reddit work? What was a waste of time?

Appreciate any insights, war stories, or unconventional tricks.

the best way is to search reddit for specific terms and reply to comments.
ForgedLabsJames•6mo ago
really? I have been doing that, but its driven maybe 20 people to my website? Feels a little underwhelming, but I will keep chipping away there, thanks for the advice!
