Even in the age of AI copilots, I still find that hashing out code with other humans is one of the best ways to spark fresh ideas and stay motivated—especially when working on solo projects.

I built Tidalbase to help developers connect and pair up for focused, one-hour coding sessions (“tides”) scheduled at set times.

The biggest technical challenge was matching people effectively. I drew inspiration from CodersRank, using GitHub activity and project repositories to make skill-based, relevant matches.

Like GitHub, Tidalbase is free for open source projects.
