as with the 27391692 times it was tried since the late 90s, the eu commission will drag it's feet and they will revert to Microsoft.

> you don't break from colonialism with local efforts.

Could you elaborate? I genuinely have no idea what this comment means in the context of Denmark trying to switch software providers or platforms.

cluckindan•7mo ago
You could say the software giant has colonized the country and is actively refusing to leave after subjugating the government.
1oooqooq•7mo ago
you will have to submit expense and planning reports to the eu commission to get those sweet grants, but they will require you to use a centralized exchange email account they manage, then send in a Microsoft office file format, then use an authentication app that only works on google-android or ios...

it doesn't matter that one single country wants to break free from the domination that is rooted in the Belgian burocracia. and I'm not guessing, in talking from historic precedent. Spain, Italy, France, Germany... they all tried before and failed.

ericmay•7mo ago
Maybe the problem is submitting all those reports and whatever since the EU is dictating the format
p0w3n3d•7mo ago
For the freedom it would be better to break from the Google for example. However I really cheer them for it, it will fail, because Linux and open office are not replacements for normal office work.
avmich•7mo ago
People may have different definitions of "normal" here.
