Maybe I missed it, but when it comes to improving your estimates, the actual accuracy is far less important than what problem you are trying to solve in the first place. Why do you need an estimate? That answer will dictate the required level of accuracy. Some processes need high accuracy, some need low, some don't need any estimates at all.
