Show HN: My file search app is now 8× faster than before

https://drimiteros.github.io/Da-Deep-Search-Website/downloadv2.html
3•Drimiteros•3h ago
- Features: [x] Added a dynamic caching system for significantly faster and more efficient search operations --about 86% faster than the version 4.2_3 and approximately 99.43% faster than the windows search! Particularly beneficial for large or slower drives, with a trade-off of higher RAM usage. Delivers performance comparable to tools like Everything, while retaining wide file system compatibility.

- Bug fixes: [x] Resolved an issue where the application could crash or glitch when the Recents tab attempted to display a file that had been deleted. [x] Resolved a bug that caused the app to search for files in all the drives when the user had selected a specific drive to search in.

Since you had a lot of questions and complains in the previous post, I will be answering them here:

Αnswer to website related questions or complains: Some of you may experience bad scaling in the website. Some might be mac, ios or browser related issues, but keep in mind that i am only one person and try to optimize the website to work for the majority. If you are experiencing scaling issues make sure your browser scale is at 100% and your monitor scale is at 100%. As for the website appearing badly on mobile devices, don't worry, I am aware. I am pausing the website dev to focus on the app. Thank you!

Αnswer το admin privileges related questions: Many want to know why the app requires admin privileges by the time it is advertising that it does not since it's a portable software. The reason is that if you don't install it like that it may be flagged as malware and I don't have money to pay for a code signing certificate. Besides it requires them only once for the installation, not every time it runs! There is also a .zip version of the app that does not require anything.

P.S. I am working tirelessly to update the app, the website and respond to questions and criticism, because I really believe in it and it's actually very fun to work on, I am learning a lot of new stuff along the way. Thank you for taking your time to visit the website and test the app. It got 1000+ visits in just a day!
