I've been working on this side project, on and off, for several years (life's been busy). I don't feel it's finish yet (they never are), but I feel that I should share it with you now.
A few years ago, where I am from, all opposition news outlets were forcibly shut down. It was then when I realized the value of being able to see world events from different perspectives. That's why I build this website.
With the ongoing wars and the possibility of future ones looming, I believe it's more valuable than ever to access varied viewpoints, be it Israel vs. Middle East, Europe vs. Russia, or U.S. vs. China. I've also collected channels from other regions: South-East Asia, South America, Oceania, Africa; and one from the financial sector.
Though some channels are from state media and might be more biased then we typically allow ourselves to watch, it could be insightful to watch for a new minutes, with a critical mind, to see how the other side is framing these events and what the viewers in those countries are consuming. That's why the home URL will redirect to a random channel every time you open it. If you like a particular channel, you can bookmark its permalink.
Hope you find it useful! Questions and feedback are welcomed. Also welcomed are suggestions on 1) who besides myself might need this, and how do I reach them, 2) how to check that a Youtube/HLS stream has ended.
