it's too bad this was overshadowed by the more mainstream solution posts in the last few days. I once had to solve a combinatorial problem in real life and wrote this amalgamation https://github.com/markasoftware/chorebot/blob/master/solver..., but thanks to this post I realize that minizinc would have been a much better way to express the problem.
