I couldn't find the date in the article so I don't know if this is just a repeat of an earlier "defeat" of RSA.

Well, I'll have to double check the stuff I already sent, I need to decide whether to send this off to a couple cryptologically inclined friends of mine or not.
cheaprentalyeti•7mo ago
So thanks to both you and Romperstomper for answering both yes and no.
romperstomper•7mo ago
This is just a repeat. At the end they have the link to the original article from 2024.

Could we add "22-bit" to the title?

Last I was more up to date on crypto a few years ago it seemed everyone was recommending at least 2048 if you're using RSA.

It's a step, but far from the end of internet banking.

yawpitch•7mo ago
Don’t dissuade readers from getting to the “22 bits still matter” section, though. This team seems to have made substantial progress on scaling towards larger keys.
