Jersey Jack Pinball's Harry Potter and the AI Art Controversy

https://www.kineticist.com/post/harry-potter-pinball-ai-art-controversy

For some context: Every pinball manufacturer has wanted to make a Harry Potter machine for decades, but allegedly JK Rowling didn't like the idea because pinball machines go in bars.

So finally, Jersey Jack Pinball secures the license (for a lot of money), makes the machine, priced between $10k and $15k, and then people start noticing AI artifacts in the art.

Initially, it's denied entirely, but the person respsonsible for the art package commented on the original forum thread yesterday, admitting, "...we did use AI tools sparingly and intentionally..."

https://tiltforums.com/t/jjp-harry-potter-and-the-order-of-a...

I'm of 2 minds about it because it probably doesn't matter if an AI or a human made those mistakes, but a human wouldn't make those mistakes. I think if they used an AI and everything looked great, we'd be having a different, calmer conversation.
