I was looking for posts comparing LLMs to Lisp macros and found this instead.

IMO there's some property of LLMs in the context of programming that feels similar to Lisp macros. Devs either love it and use/abuse it everywhere, or they don't get it or use it sparingly where appropriate. Plus there's the whole "code heavily written with LLMs/macros can only be understood by the original author".
