So I built Rotten Tabs, a Chrome extension that auto-closes old tabs unless you actually use them.
You set a tab lifespan (1–7 days). Tabs display a visual warning when they’re close to expiring, and if ignored, they close themselves. But if you return and focus on a tab for 30 seconds, its timer resets.
It’s not a full-featured tab manager - no session restore, no bookmarks, no “save for later”. Just one clear rule: tabs expire if you don’t use them.
I’m still improving it and trying to understand if a tool like this is actually useful to others. Would love your thoughts!
