Show HN: Thoth, a Developer Typing Platform

https://thoth.rocks/
12•nikoladinevski•7mo ago
Hey HN! I’m Nikola, and I’m excited to share something I’ve been building: Thoth, a platform designed to help developers improve their typing speed and accuracy with real code snippets. Including daily challenges, ranked mode, global leaderboards and lots of customizability.

Whether you're a beginner learning your first language or an experienced coder aiming to stay sharp, Thoth is here to help. If you’re like me, you spend hours coding every day, and typing quickly and accurately makes a huge difference. But the existing typing tools didn’t feel like they were tailored for developers, so I decided to make one that was. Thoth uses real code snippets and makes typing practice feel just like real coding.

Practice with real code from 9+ languages like JS, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, and more. Compete globally with daily challenges and see where you rank on the leaderboards. Monitor your improvement in real-time, get detailed feedback on speed, accuracy, and see your stats evolve over time. Thoth is 100% free, no paywalls, just a passion project built by me, Nikola, to help you become a faster coder!

You can get started here: https://thoth.rocks

Thanks for checking it out, and I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

Happy typing!

Nice, when is the vim extension happening?
nikoladinevski•7mo ago
It's a good idea for it to be a separate competition, a separate feature. Thank you :D

For the actual typing code speed practice and competitions, I don't see why there should be navigation.

dlulakov•7mo ago
Understood, thank you.
patanasovski•7mo ago
This is awesome, I really love the concept! It's so much more engaging than just typing random words like most other typing sites. Practicing with real code makes it feel purposeful and actually fun.
