Gaming unit hit hard.

In my opinion, the games industry as we know it is dead. The model of "you buy a console and are guaranteed 6 years of AAA game releases on it" is dead.

I think that mainstream gaming will only return in the form of Roblox Studio / Fortnite or Genshin Impact. The future core of gaming will be either a) cross-platform user generated content with loot boxes or b) AAA money extractors, basically. Prestige properties like Zelda will still be around but there'll be fewer of them. Tiny team indies will survive to push the envelope, but they probably won't make much money.

In general I think this is the end of millenial-style gaming. When games return, they'll be built to satisfy Zoomer and Gen Alpha tastes.
