I keep asking if the model is homomorphic encryption with trusted intermediary which is what the CSIRO and the Australian Privacy Commission recommended.

No clear sign yet, if anyone knows I'd welcome it.

Like others, my google account is now over 20 years old, at one remove evidence of continuous use should have some value. That's not homomorphic, Google know what I'm doing but you would think given that, even in privacy mode they know it's me and from wallet have KYC 100 points data.

I too have an old gmail account, from the 3 invites per account era. Funny thing is, when the age verification thing for EU accounts was implemented, my new-ish android phone account had me verify my age, while my old account (18+ at that time) didn't require it. The modal did its spinny thing and then disappeared. No idea if they had that specific case in mind, or something else happened, but I remember making a mental note about that.

I had wondered if the whole no social media for under 16s, which as a guide line would be easily implemented by the very powerful tracking that social media already uses, was actually a front to impose a verified identity on all Australian netizens and would actually be reaching right back to when a certain ex PM proposed that we as Aussie netizens would have to provide ID to gain access to the web - same person working for him then to devise ways to implement it iirc, is now running this BS show.

This really does sound the think of the children is just a ruse to remove any one who's anonymous who'd like to comment - not good for progressive society since as far as I'm concerned I've been where certain questions needed to be raised (to sink really stupid ideas) only to find how it all works - govt and other quite distant interests arrive sideways to dish out any punishment they think they might be able to inflict - if anything to waste a lot of my time.
