We know children were getting smarter than their parents because of better nutrition.

The only way they wouldn't is dysgenics, getting genetically stupider ~ matching the nutritional gains.

Ironically this would work with why it has continued to fall. Nutritional gains have maxed out and the genetics are getting worse.

I have never seen the "Flynn effect" referenced with nutrition so it's never made sense to me.

Schools changing curriculum is BS, if anything it'll be radio -> television. 4 hours a day on abstract stories adds up a lot. Massive quantity over quality changes populations.

You don't need the The Twilight Zone for abstraction, Days of Our Lives is quite abstract which goes all the way up to the humor in Seinfeld. I would say Friends humor build on that but is political, they are surprising accepting for the time of homosexuality, homelessness and even incest (hot cousin episode)
