Paid for Claude Code; can't even sign up because "capacity"

8•okincilleb•7mo ago
I just about managed to convince my team to get Claude Enterprise to use Claude Code.

As soon as I signup and install Claude Code, I see this:

Claude Code is at capacity

Claude Code is currently experiencing high demand. Anthropic has paused sign ups to provide the best possible service to customers. We’ll notify you when we have a spot for you!

So now I can't even use what I paid for. Not even once. No surprise, my team is cancelling our subscription and not giving it a shot. Ridiculous.

So the issues are:

* Your team were reluctant to use this AI tool, yet did so because you put effort into getting them to

* Anthropic was preventing you from using/signing up(?) and they were using this prevention to manage their load, which was apparently too high

* Your team, already not really wanting to use it, didn't use it because of a 1-time hurdle

* You are out money because of this

Is that the summary?

That sucks- I’m sorry you had that experience!

I was considering signing up today, based on this I won’t.

I have had a great experience with gemini-cli, which may interest you: it only requires a google account to setup and you get a decent chunk of gemini 2.5 pro usage for free!

okincilleb•7mo ago
Will have to try this! Apparently Claude Enterprise includes everything in Pro except Claude Code, which is why I couldn't sign up. Just a warning in case you fall in the same position!
okincilleb•7mo ago
I've got to admit something - I didn't read the fine print. Apparently Claude Enterprise included everything in Claude Pro EXCEPT Claude Code. It was written in very tiny text at the bottom of the screen.

Leaving this message here as a warning to anyone who might make the same mistake as me!

yupmat•7mo ago
Thank you! This exact scenario happened to me today. I would have never noticed the footnote. It says "Includes everything in Pro". Seems totally insufficient at pointing out that Claude Code is not included.

* Edit: Just realized we can do usage based billing and you can create a team in there. It was difficult to figure all this out. I think we don't need a "Team" account any more. My guess is they're going to add Claude Code to the Team plan soon and they're just in-between those changes, making it confusing.
