Feels like Cloudflare would have been a much better alignment, given they had some great integrations already.

Hope they are able to maintain some level of autonomy.

Agreed. Thinking of the way Vercel handled Next.js ability to run with providers other than Vercel itself[1] i see some risks with them taking over.

Congrats and thanks to the team and I wish the best for them. Nuxt is a fantastic framework.

I don't like the Vercel involvement a tiny bit though. Wish it was Cloudflare or something else. Hope I'm wrong.

As someone who chose Nuxt.js specifically because it wasn't controlled by Vercel, this is bad news. I've built two SAAS MVPs on Nuxt UI Pro this year and I'm now unsure of its future.

The founders of Nuxt.js and other core team members are now Vercel employees and NuxtLabs (Nuxt UI Pro) is now owned entirely by Vercel. Vercel tried to hire the entire team.

There's a lot of "bright new future" talk, but it's clear this is Vercel buying influence on a competing technology.

Disappointing.

Happy Nuxt user. Congrats to the team. I am concerned about how software frameworks are getting integrated into hosting platforms these days (I run a small hosting service). Blogged about it here: https://blog.fortrabbit.com/web-hosting-and-open-source
