Hi HN, when I first came to Vietnam, I wanted to be able to say simple things like “hello” or “thank you” or “where’s the bathroom”. But I quickly realized how tough the pronunciation is, since Vietnamese is tonal and small mistakes can change the meaning.

I found a great video from the What The Pho channel on YT (https://www.youtube.com/@WhatThePho) that went through basic phrases with clear, natural pronunciation — much better than Google Translate. It helped a lot, but I kept wishing I could quickly revisit those phrases on my phone without scrubbing through the video every time.

So I put together a small site with 90 of those common phrases with native audio. It’s free, no ads, no tracking — just something that would’ve made things easier for me back then, and maybe it’ll help someone else too.
